Alissa van Herk
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Alissa began her training at Coastal Dance. A family move took her to Ottawa where she continued her training at The School of Dance. Alissa was accepted to the School of Alberta Ballet Professional Division in 2013 where she completed the Ballet Academic program, as well as the Professional Graduate Program. Whilst at the school she completed her Cecchetti Advanced II and performed in works such as La Bayadère (Third Shade), Les Sylphides, and the Canadian premiere of Edmund Stripe's 'Pictures at an Exhibition'. Alissa has attended summer programs all across North America including American Ballet Theatre, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, L'École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec, as well as Northern Ballet's Summer program in England. Alissa was a member of Alberta Ballet II last season and has joined H/W School of Ballet this season to continue her training in hopes of attaining a career in a professional company.

I would love to learn how to surf. I grew up near some of the best beaches to surf in Canada, but never learned, so it's on my bucket list!
